NASA Offers Bursary for Media Management Studies
Friday | Oct 27, 2006
The Newspaper Association of South Africa (NASA) is calling for applications for its annual President's Bursary for a Post Graduate Diploma in Media Management (PDMM) at Rhodes University in Grahamstown.

The bursary at the Sol Plaatje's Media Leadership Institute at Rhodes University is meant to help develop specialised media management skills within South Africa's print media industry.

The full-time one-year course will equip students with hard technical skills for managing the business operations of a print media enterprise, including leadership; media economics and financial planning; markets and audiences; human resources management; programming; advertising; circulation and distribution; and media law and policy.

The course will commence on 14 February and will end on 30 November 2007.

The course caters primarily for individuals who do not have much or any management experience, but aspire to become managers in the near future.  For more information on the course visit the Sol Plaatje's website at http://spi@ru.ac.za.

The Bursary to the value of R21,700.00 will only cover the student's tuition fee and books. The successful candidate will be responsible for the residence fees and other sundry expenses.

Applicants who are interested in applying for the bursary must have:

* an undergraduate degree or diploma in journalism or media studies from a recognised technical college;
* at least three year's experience in the print media (newspapers or magazines) industry;
must be resident within the Republic of South African.

If you fit the criteria, please submit your CV along with a motivation letter indicating why you deserve the bursary, by November 15, 2006 to:
